The Fontfroide pass at 973 m is a mountain pass of the Espinouse mountain range in the Massif Central, in the Hérault department, on the municipality of Fraisse-sur-Agout, between the towns of Fraisse-sur-Agout and Saint-Vincent-d'Olargues. The pass is located on the watershed between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, within the Haut-Languedoc regional natural park. The climatic contrast is very high between the two slopes: Fraisse-sur-Agout is very green while Saint-Vincent-d'Olargues has Mediterranean vegetation with olive trees and cicadas.
