Located between Lunéville and Blâmont, about 40 kilometers from Nancy, the Fort of Manonviller is a stronghold that played a major role during the First World War in stopping the German advance. Without this resistance, the Germans could have easily broken through the Charmes Gap and crossed the Marne River to Paris without having to fight.
It is one of the most powerful central massif works of the Séré de Rivières system. Thanks to the hard work of its volunteers, the site offers a fascinating visit through the different rooms that compose it. You will discover the multiple facets of the site and experience the battles from the inside thanks to authentic objects and archive documents
Far from being abandoned, the Fort is recognized as a LPO refuge and is located in a setting classified Natura 2000. Guided tours are organized for all from April to October, and every day on request (from 8 people) at 06 22 37 73 02 or 06 88 07 22 94.
