In 1240, after having fought valiantly, Enguerrand III, Sire of Coucy, returns to the castle. Not knowing what magic words to use, he is propelled into the 21st century. Luckily, he meets his descendant, Marie-Anne de Montmirail, a guide in Coucy. He realizes that unfortunately his castle is no more and understands that he must join his time.
