Fief of the Vaudémont family and of the sulphurous Henriette of Lorraine known as "Princess Henriette". This small town was founded by the Count Palatine George Gustav. It was once a Principality of the Empire where coins were minted in his image. Lixheim has a rich architectural heritage from this period, including The monumental fountain dating from 1627, the mint, the church of Saint Anthony. As well as many houses with beautiful oriels on the facade, typical of the architecture of Eastern Europe.
