Via di Mezzo is a central square in the old town of Barga.
In 1870, the Capretz family opened a café under the merchants' 16th-century loggia in front of the town hall. At that time, the cafe became the meeting place of the aristocracy and the intellectual life of Barga.
The current Cafè Capretz welcomes you not only in its large indoor and outdoor spaces, but also on its small terrace that offers a unique view over Barga. On the terrace an epigraph is dictated by the poet Giovanni Pascoli.
