Since the autumn of 2006, bookstore Selexyz Dominicanen has been located in the centuries-old Dominican Church in Maastricht. Two hundred years ago, the church lost its sacred function and has since served many years as a snake house, bicycle storage, and carnival temple.
Architecture firm Merkx + Girod designed the unique interior of Selexyz Dominicanen. The design won the Lensvelt Architect Interior Award in 2007, the most prestigious award in this field in the Netherlands.
