The Lexkesveer is the ferry connection between Wageningen and Randwijk over the Lower Rhine. The ferry connection already existed in the Middle Ages. Given the fact that on the northern side from the ferry a prehistoric route runs over the flank of the Veluwe further north, it can be concluded that there may have been a ford across the river at the Lexkesveer in the past. Before World War II, there was also a hotel and a swimming pool on the Wageningen side of the Lexkesveer. Additionally, the old ferry house still stands on that side.
