The Armenmolen is one of the few remaining watermills on the Ittersebeek in Neeritter. This underlay mill was used as a grist mill.
The oldest written mention of a mill on this site is from 1280. Also in 1535 a Armenmolen was built, but it is not clear whether it was on the same site as the current mill. A document from the Schepenbank in Neeritter mentions that the current mill was built between 1684 and 1687. The wall irons give the year 1686. This mill was founded by the lord of Borgitter to be donated to the poor.
