At the Georgian Honorary Cemetery Loladze near the Hoge Berg between Den Burg and Oudeschild on the Dutch Wadden Island of Texel, soldiers who were part of the 822nd Georgian battalion in the Wehrmacht have been buried since 1945. In total, there are 476 individuals. In 2005, Georgian President Saakashvili, his wife Sandra Roelofs, and Patriarch Ilia II of the Georgian Orthodox Church attended the annual memorial service at the honor field.
