Este monumento recuerda a las numerosas víctimas de la Primera Guerra Mundial. 'Monumental' es la palabra correcta para describir la enorme promenade hacia la estatua ecuestre del Rey Alberto I y el alto círculo de columnas que la rodea. Este monumento de 1938 está hecho de arcilla extraída a lo largo del Ijzer.
