Dit monument houdt de talrijke slachtoffers van de Eerste Wereldoorlog in herinnering. 'Monumentaal' is het juiste woord om de enorme promenade naar het ruiterstandbeeld van Koning Albert I en de hoge zuilenkring errond te beschrijven. Dit monument uit 1938 is vervaardigd uit klei gedolven langs de IJzer.
Je kan te voet of met de lift naar de bovenverdieping om er te genieten van een indrukwekkend uitzicht op de IJzervlakte. Orienteringstafels geven de interessante plaatsen aan.
