Ce monument commémore les nombreux victimes de la Première Guerre mondiale. 'Monumental' est le mot juste pour décrire la grande promenade menant à la statue équestre du roi Albert I et au cercle des hautes colonnes qui l'entoure. Ce monument de 1938 est fabriqué en argile extraite le long de l'Yser.
Vous pouvez y accéder à pied ou par l'ascenseur pour profiter d'une vue impressionnante sur la plaine de l'Yser. Des tables d'orientation indiquent les lieux intéressants.
