Este agua-castillo está ubicado en un extenso dominio de parque en Beveren.
La parte más antigua del castillo data al menos del comienzo del siglo XV, cuando la familia Vijd de Gante habitaba el castillo. El castillo fue habitado y remodelado sucesivamente por cuatro diferentes familias nobles. En 1966, el municipio compró el castillo con parque y edificios adicionales. En la fachada encima de la puerta de entrada se encuentra la imagen de San Martín como soldado romano que comparte su manto. Con esto, el castillo se coloca bajo su protección. En la capilla del castillo, un notable medallón en el techo representa a Martín como un joven con espada y bigote.
