Ballymoe es una aldea en el condado de Galway, Irlanda. Ballymoe está situada en el lado occidental del río Suck que separa los condados de Galway y Roscommon. La carretera nacional secundaria N60 se encuentra con la carretera regional R360 en el centro de la aldea.
El nombre Béal Átha Mó se deriva de un fuerte que fue construido por Meabh de Connacht, bajo la orden de Mogh. El fuerte y la aldea más tarde se conocerían como Átha Mogh Mór y Béal Átha Mogh. La ciudad es ahora el centro de una pequeña área rural involucrada en la agricultura mixta a escala. Los pantanos elevados, los fuertes y una roca de misa de tiempos penales son características de Ballymoe hoy en día.
