En la división de la tierra entre el Reino y los Erfgooiers en 1836, grandes parcelas pasaron a ser de propiedad privada. Los nuevos propietarios plantaron árboles porque la madera daba más rendimiento de la tierra. Así, surgieron muchos bosques en el Gooi, incluyendo Spanderswoud. En el Spanderswoud aún se encuentran cuerpos de agua de contornos irregulares, formados por la extracción de arena.
