La Vieille Escaut est restée après une coupure artificielle d'un méandre de l'Escaut à la fin du 19e siècle. Après des années de comblement, de l'eau libre a été rétablie en 2002 par l'Agence pour la Nature et les Forêts de Flandre-Orientale.
Vous pouvez librement vous promener autour de la forêt domaniale adjacente. Un point de départ se trouve dans la Rue Principale en face du numéro 171.
