Cette église possède une longue histoire de construction qui commence au XIIIe siècle sous le Comte Baudouin IX. Au XIVe siècle, le Comte Louis de Male ajoute la chapelle des Comtes. L'intérieur de l'église est réalisé dans un style baroque riche au XVIIe siècle. L'église contient plusieurs trésors d'art importants, dont La Crucifixion de Antoine Van Dyck, les magnifiques peintures murales des comtes de Flandre et la statue de Sainte Catherine (reconnu chef-d'œuvre !).
Vivez 1302 et sa bataille des Éperons d'Or, comme si vous y étiez, lors d'un spectacle son et lumière ou à la table interactive. Vous découvrirez également pourquoi le lion est le symbole de la Flandre.
