La maison Obereimer était une ferme appartenant aux électeurs de Cologne et le centre du jardin princier à Arnsberg. Depuis le 19ème siècle, il abrite l'administration forestière d'État d'Arnsberg. Le quartier environnant est aujourd'hui également appelé Obereimer.
Dans la zone de l'actuel quartier, il y avait au Moyen Âge plusieurs fermes, soumises à divers seigneurs. Le premier intendants électoral Hermann Dücker a réussi, depuis 1627, à acheter différentes terres et droits seigneuriaux sur les fermes et à les transformer en une propriété noble, exemptée de taxes et apte aux diètes.
