Le VEB chantier naval "Edgar André" de Magdebourg a existé de 1922 à 1970 et a ensuite été intégré dans le VEB Kombinat Luft- und Kältetechnik de Dresde.
Les premières planifications pour un chantier de réparation de l'Administration de construction Elbstrom à Magdebourg remontent à l'année 1903. En 1912, le creusement du bassin portuaire du chantier naval a commencé, et en 1922, le chantier d'État Rothensee de l'Office des machines prussiennes a commencé son activité.
