C’est le nom du cours d’eau responsable de la capture de la Moselle il y a 300 000 ans. Situé au niveau de Villey-Saint-Etienne, le Terrouin est un Espace Naturel Sensible géré par le Conseil Départemental de Meurthe-et-Moselle. Long de 30 km, cette vallée abrite une grande variété de milieux naturels : zones humides, anciennes carrières, pelouses calcaire, fosses, … où chacun d’eux est un espace privilégié pour le refuge de nombreuses espèces animales et végétales. De la ferme Renard Moulin sur la commune de Trondes à sa confluence avec la Moselle à Villey St Etienne, le Terrouin sinue dans une vallée étroite total de 24 kilomètres. Les Communes concernées sont Trondes, Lagney, Sanzey, Ménil la Tour, Andilly, Manoncourt en Woëvre, Avrainville, Jaillon et Villey St Etienne
