La Schauenburg, conosciuta anche come Scouwenborg, 1143 Scowenburch, 1184 Schowinburc o 1240 Scoenburc, è la rovina di un castello situato nel comune di Schauenburg, nel distretto di Kassel in Assia settentrionale.
La rovina del castello di Schauenburg si trova nel parco naturale di Habichtswald su un cono vulcanico di basalto alto 499,9 m s.l.m., il Burgberg di Schauenburg, che si erge nella Hoofer Pforte come parte settentrionale delle Langenberge a sud-ovest di un tratto del corso superiore della Bauna. Si trova tra il centro principale di Schauenburg, Hoof a est e il quartiere di Schauenburg, Breitenbach a ovest. La grande città più vicina è Kassel, il cui centro città si trova a circa 12 km a est-nordest.
