Il Parc des Luxembourg era l'antico parco di piacere dei conti di Ligny-en-Barrois. Già nel XIV secolo il parco offriva al giovane Pierre de Luxembourg pace e tranquillità. La sua forma a "L" è rimasta invariata fin dall'inizio. Con una superficie di 8 ettari, è delimitato dalle acque del fiume Ornain.
La torre dei cannoni, del diametro di 40 metri, costituiva l'angolo meridionale dei bastioni del castello. Il suo tracciato è ancora visibile e grandi macerie ne testimoniano l'età.
Acquistato dalla città di Ligny-en-Barrois nel 1794, è stato classificato come monumento storico nel 1932.
