Costruito nel XIV secolo, fa parte del Grand Rempart de Verdun. A forma di ferro di cavallo, è nota anche come Tour du Puty. Il nome "Plaids" deriva dalle udienze giudiziarie che si tenevano qui nel Medioevo.
