Delfshaven è un'area comunale del comune di Rotterdam. Delfshaven contava nel 2019 76.215 abitanti e ha una superficie di 5,80 km². Originariamente Delfshaven era parte di Delft. Nel 1795 divenne un comune indipendente, per essere annesso da Rotterdam nel 1886.
Delfshaven sorse nel 1389, quando fu scavato il Delfshavense Schie per collegare la città di Delft con il Maas. Da allora le navi provenienti da Delft potevano raggiungere il Nuovo Maas attraverso il Delftsche e il Delfshavense Schie. Intorno allo sbarramento sorse il porticciolo 'Delfshaven'. Aveva lo status di 'colonia di Delft'. Un arresto nella crescita si verificò quando alla fine delle litigazioni Hoekse e Kabeljauwse (intorno al 1490) gli Hoeken causarono enormi distruzioni. All'inizio del sedicesimo secolo Delfshaven contava poco più di 100 case e 400 abitanti.
