In effetti, questa chiesa di Ede è molto antica. La forma attuale della chiesa risale al 1643, tranne per la navata nord, che è stata aggiunta solo nel 20° secolo. Ma nel 1216 già si menzionava una chiesa in questo luogo. Il cimitero, sempre presente accanto a una chiesa, non si trova più qui. È stato rimosso nel 1970 per fare spazio alla nuova costruzione del municipio.
Grazie alla buona acustica e all'insolito organo del 1877, si tengono regolarmente concerti d'organo nella Vecchia Chiesa.
