È un antico braccio del Mosa che, parallelo al Mosa ma a ovest di esso, in passato scaricava l'acqua in eccesso del Mosa. Tra il 1993 e il 1995 si verificarono alti livelli d'acqua e questo braccio del Mosa causò allagamenti. Nel 1995 questo braccio fu chiuso con argini. Tuttavia, questo comportò un sovraccarico del letto principale del Mosa durante le piene.
