Door een strategische terreinaankoop van de pioniers van Limburgs Landschap vzw in 1978, werd de rechtrekking van de Bosbeek voorkomen. Hierdoor startte het landschappelijk herstel en bleef de grote natuurwaarde van het gebied bewaard.
In totaal lagen er ooit zestien molens langs de Bosbeek. Ten oosten van Tösch ligt de Wurfeldermolen. De eerste molen op die plek dateert wellicht van vóór 1437. De molen heeft dienst gedaan als volmolen (om wol te vollen), als schorsmolen (om eikenschors te malen voor looizuur), als papiermolen en korenmolen.
