Deze wandeling is genoemd naar een 19e-eeuwse operacomponist die in zijn tijd beroemd was en die vaak in Spa verbleef.
Het was in Spa dat hij de inspiratie vond voor zijn eerste grote werk, "Robert le Diable". Hij hield van de buitenlucht en de natuur en werd vaak gezien op een ezel. Het pad loopt langs de rand van de beek en gaat van de ene kant naar de andere via houten of stenen loopbruggen.
De Meyerbeer-wandeling begint bij de Source de Barisart en het aangrenzende restaurant en volgt de beek die ontspringt in de Géronstère.
Er zijn verschillende picknicktafels langs de weg.
Om terug te keren wordt aangeraden om door het Bois de Mambaye te gaan via de Thier des Raixhons, de beroemde skipiste van Spa.
