Het Goed Rothensiek ligt in Leopoldstal, een wijk van de stad Horn-Bad Meinberg, niet ver van Detmold en Paderborn in het Teutoburgerwoud. Het poortgebouw van het goed uit 1687 staat onder monumentenzorg.
In 1481 ontving Hermann Trumpe als opgeleide molenaar en dienaar van de lippegraaf Bernhard VII de landerijen rond het huidige Goed Rothensiek als leengoed. In de archieven werd in zijn dienst vermeld dat “Magd en Bislepersche” een Ilseke Trumpe was, die minstens 11 onwettige kinderen met de graaf had. Als dit de zus van Hermann Trumpe op Rodensiek was, verklaart dit de welwillendheid van zijn voormalige heer.
