Barsac, een zeer oude nederzetting, zag de oprichting van een eerste kerk in de 11e eeuw. In de 15e eeuw werd het herbouwd en in 1536 voegde de architect Etienne Baudoyn er een kapel aan toe. Toen de parochie groter werd, werd een nieuwe kerk gepland. De architect Claude Joyneau was de projectleider. De werkzaamheden begonnen in 1702 en de dakconstructie werd betaald in 1710. De nieuwe kerk heeft een compacte plattegrond met drie beuken van vier traveeën. De voorgevel wordt gedomineerd door een vierkante klokkentoren
Een boog die een portiek vormt ondersteunt de bovenste verdiepingen, die verlicht worden door gemetselde traveeën met oculi waarvan de hoeken versierd zijn met Ionische pilasters.
