Dit herenhuis werd herbouwd in de tweede helft van de 18e eeuw. Het dankt zijn naam aan een van de eigenaren, Pierre-Antoine-Victor Huot de Goncourt, een voormalig artilleriekapitein en oom van de schrijvers Jules en Edmond de Goncourt, die het in 1816 kocht. Van het vorige gebouw zijn alleen nog de laat 15e of 16e eeuwse kelders onder het hoofdgebouw overgebleven.
Dit gebouw is ongetwijfeld het mooiste voorbeeld van neokastrische burgerlijke architectuur. Het is gebouwd in essenhout en heeft een symmetrische indeling met vijf traveeën verdeeld over drie niveaus.
