Het Honoris Causa House is ontstaan uit de passie van één man voor thee. Van kopje tot kopje en van reis tot reis, scherpte deze fijnproever zijn smaakpapillen aan en werd een expert in de complexe kunst van de theeceremonie. Om de geheimen van deze drank te begrijpen, bezocht hij talrijke plantages in China, Ceylon, Nepal en Japan en verwierf hij zijn kennis bij plukkers en producenten over de hele wereld.
Deze "Master Brewer", een groot kenner van thee, is ook een botanisch expert en kent de deugden van planten door en door. Hij selecteert en stelt zijn theemengsels en kruidentheeën samen met het oog op de subtiliteit van de smaak, de delicatesse van de geur en de schoonheid van zijn composities.
Altijd op zoek naar perfectie, is zijn enige motto "Nil sine labore", niets gebeurt zonder werk.
