Dit kruis dateert waarschijnlijk uit het einde van de 15e of het begin van de 16e eeuw en is afkomstig uit het dorp l'Hospital, waar zich een commanderij bevond die afhankelijk was van Carlat. Het lijkt sterk op de geëmailleerde kruisen die werden gebruikt op altaren of in processies, met gebloemde en gevlochten uiteinden, de Maagd Maria, bijna in een smekende houding, rechts van Christus en Sint Jan de Evangelist links van hem. Johannes houdt een kruis in zijn hand in plaats van het traditionele attribuut: een boek. Als gevolg hiervan is het moeilijk om dit kruis te dateren, zelfs als we denken dat de beeldhouwer geïnspireerd was door geëmailleerde kruisen. Het zou aanmatigend zijn om te beweren dat het tijdgenoot is van de geëmailleerde kruisen uit de 14e eeuw.
