Steeds meer boeren stoppen met hun bedrijf. Soms zet zo'n boer de stap om de vrijgekomen akkers en weiden te gebruiken voor de ontwikkeling van een nieuw landgoed. Allerlei financiële regelingen maken zo'n overstap voor boeren aantrekkelijk. Je moet wel aan bepaalde voorwaarden voldoen om voor deze regelingen in aanmerking te komen. Landgoed Kraaiveld is zo’n project en is 73 hectare groot. Er zal loofbos en bloemrijk grasland worden aangelegd, alsmede een aantal lanen. Van de 13 woningen die worden gebouwd komen er 8 op een eiland. Het project om een zorgboerderij te starten lukte niet, maar er wordt gewerkt aan een doorstart.
