The tower of the former windmill is hardly recognizable anymore, so overgrown it is. Only upon a second glance can the tower ruin be seen.
In 1985, the old windmill was added to the monument list of the city of Selm. This tower ruin is made of sandstone and is one of the oldest buildings in Selm. This windmill has existed since 1551 and is thus nearly 500 years old. The tower windmill was in operation until 1912. Whether the mill will be restored again is still uncertain, as it will definitely not be inexpensive.
