Wenige Tage nach der Entscheidung, das Dorf Brûly-de-Pesche als Hitlers Hauptquartier zu nutzen, wurde beschlossen, die Bevölkerung vollständig aus der Region zu vertreiben. Am 27. und 28. Mai 1940 wurden 28 Dörfer rund um den „Wolfsravijn“ evakuiert. Die Bewohner müssen in Philippevile und Walcourt Schutz finden, ohne zu wissen, warum sie aus ihren Häusern vertrieben werden. Sie können nicht vor Ende Juni und sogar Anfang Juli nach Hause zurückkehren. Gleichzeitig werden 80 Menschen als Geiseln genommen und im Gefängnis von Dinant eingesperrt.
