The Alfambra River is a watercourse in the east of the Iberian Peninsula, a tributary of the Turia. The river, which runs through the Spanish province of Teruel, belongs to the Júcar drainage basin.
It is born in the Sierra de la Moratilla, at the summit of Peñarroya at about 2000 m altitude, in the province of Teruel. In a winding route, first to the north and then to the south, its occasional avenues cause serious damage to the orchards of the small towns through which it passes. The river flows through the towns of Galve, Orrios and Alfambra,[2] as well as Peralejos, Cuevas Labradas, Villalba Baja, Tortajada and Teruel where it joins the Turia River.
