Al sedert 1997 was Luc Vermeersch, de oprichter van brouwerij De Leite, in zijn tuin met brouwsels aan het experimenteren. Uiteindelijk volgde hij een brouwcursus en groeide het idee om de dingen wat professioneler aan te pakken. In 2008 opende brouwerij De Leite haar deuren, amper drie jaar later deden er al grotere ketels hun intrede. Vandaag worden deze bieren van hoge gisting nog steeds op de traditionele manier gebrouwen. En dat levert een fijne collectie bieren op die stuk voor stuk gezegend werden met veelzeggende namen.
