Torre d'aigua construïda el 1788 (data esmentada), a finals del segle XVIII (any IV) sobre la muralla de la fortalesa rematada per un edifici destinat a despatx de l'enginyer en cap.
Fontaine Louis XVI també es diu Fontaine de la Chefferie.
La sala de màquines es va transformar posteriorment en sales comunes. Entre 1844 i 1865 es va construir un edifici similar a l'altra banda de l'escala, amb estables, un cobert al terraplè i una oficina al terraplè. Els edificis del terraplè van resultar danyats durant la guerra de 1939-1945. Les restes van ser destruïdes el 1958. Decorat per l' escultor Antoine Harrewyn, conegut com Beau Soleil.
