Kreekruggen, Brugse Steenweg, Noord-ede: bis Anfang des 17. Jahrhunderts verlief der Noord-Ede in Richtung Brügge von der Palingpot (Klemskerke). Bei der Eindeichung im 17. Jahrhundert wurde dieser natürliche Wasserlauf zur Entwässerung der 'Watering von Blankenberge' mit der 'Creecke' von Bredene verbunden. Dieser reichte von der See bis zur Blauwe Sluis und Plassendale und wurde später „Sluisvliet“ genannt. Danach wurde der Name „Noord-Ede“ bis zur Mündung in den Oostender Hafengewässer verwendet.
