Il castello di Cloppenburg è un castello medievale abbandonato della contea di Tecklenburg, situato nel centro città di Cloppenburg, nel distretto di Cloppenburg in Bassa Sassonia, subito a sud della Soeste.
Il Cloppenburg doveva servire ai conti di Tecklenburg per proteggere il loro territorio a nord. Inizialmente, nella prima metà del XIII secolo, nei pressi dell'insediamento di Krapendorf, nella pianura di Soeste, su una fattoria a Hemesburen, fu costruita una casa fortificata protetta da un fossato. Prima del 1297, questa fu sostituita da un castello circondato da acqua, menzionato per la prima volta in occasione di uno scambio di terreni il 5 gennaio 1297.
