Den berømte bro, der nu er et symbol på regionen, blev anlagt mellem 20. marts og 27. juli 1879 af stenhuggere Jean-Pierre Prommenschenkel fra Christnach på fire måneder. På det tidspunkt blev broen bygget med dampkalk og sandsten, og den står stadig som den blev bygget dengang. Det trægelænder blev tilføjet lidt senere og er blevet fornyet flere gange gennem årene.
