Ce château d'eau est situé dans un vaste domaine park de Beveren.
La partie la plus ancienne du château remonte au moins au début du 15ème siècle, lorsque la famille Vijd de Gand y habitait. Le château a été successivement occupé et transformé par quatre familles nobles différentes. En 1966, la commune a acheté le château avec le parc et les dépendances. Sur la façade au-dessus de la porte d'entrée se trouve la statue de Saint-Martin en soldat romain partageant son manteau. Cela place le château sous sa protection. Dans la chapelle du château, un intéressant médaillon au plafond représente Martinus en jeune homme avec une épée et une moustache.
