Der Wiederaufbau von Chauny nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg verdient besonderes Interesse. Chauny war nämlich die erste Stadt in Frankreich, die über einen Plan zur Umgestaltung, Verschönerung und Erweiterung verfügte. Dekorative Elemente im Stil des "Art déco" an den Fassaden oder im Inneren der Gebäude machen Chauny zu einer Stadt mit einem außergewöhnlichen Kulturerbe, das es wiederzuentdecken gilt. Heute ist es bei einem Besuch der Stadt interessant zu wissen, dass der Standort jedes Gebäudes Gegenstand einer sehr breiten Abstimmung war. Nicht verpassen: die Kirche Saint-Martin, der Platz der Markthalle, die Kirche Notre-Dame, der Boulevard Gambetta, der Square Foch, die Festhalle.
