Unos días después de la decisión de utilizar la aldea de Brûly-de-Pesche como cuartel general de Hitler, se decide desalojar completamente a la población de la región. El 27 y 28 de mayo de 1940, se evacuan 28 aldeas alrededor del 'Wolfsravijn'. Los habitantes deben encontrar refugio en Philippevile y Walcourt, sin saber por qué son expulsados de sus hogares. No pueden regresar a casa antes de finales de junio e incluso principios de julio. Al mismo tiempo, ochenta personas son secuestradas y detenidas en la cárcel de Dinant.
