Peerdsbos -- Het Peerdsbos is het oudst bekende wandelbos van de provincie Antwerpen. In 1935 werd het domein voor een symbolische huur van 1 frank per jaar en voor de duur van 99 jaar in pacht gegeven aan de Stad Antwerpen onder voorwaarde dat het als recreatieoord voor het grote publiek opengesteld moest worden. Door het bos stroomt de Laarse Beek met een groot verval (2,8 m over 2 kilometer) en enkele zeer mooie meanders. De beek is wat er van de rivier ‘Olme’ overbleef na de Sint-Elisabethsvloed, tussen 1376 en 1430, die o.a. in Nederland de Biesbosch deed ontstaan.
