Il mulino ad acqua al confine olandese fu menzionato per la prima volta nel 1331. Era di proprietà episcopale documentatamente nel 1350. L'edificio situato lungo l'Alstätter Aa fu costruito nel 1619. È attestata una ristrutturazione da parte di Peter Pictorius il Giovane, in base a un'iscrizione sulla pietra d'arma del principe vescovo Clemens Augusto.
L'edificio a travi in legno con muratura di mattoni poggia su un massiccio basamento in pietra. La costruzione con travi d'ancoraggio è stata realizzata con supporti curvi.
