Wat Phraya Tikaram ligger ud for byøen i den østlige del af Ayutthaya, i Phai Ling underdistrikt. Klosteret ligger på den sydlige bred af Khlong Kramang. Kanalens navn ændres til Khlong Ban Bat, når den fortsætter vest for Wat Phraya Tikaram til samløbet med Khlong Dusit og til sidst tilslutter sig den nye Pa Sak-flod ved siden af byøen. Mod øst, ved sammenløbet med Khlong Hantra, løber Khlong Khao Mao, en biflod fra Pa Sak-floden, der har sit udspring i Tha Ruea.
Wat Thung Yi (afbrydelse) står i vest, mens Wat Krasang (aktivt tempel) ligger i øst.
Wat Phraya Tikaram er et aktivt kloster, tidligere kendt som Wat Phra Yat, Wat Phop Yat. Helligdommen er vist på et kort fra 1916 e.Kr. som Wat Phra Phop.
