The parish church of 1902-1904 designed by architect Edward Careels was built in neo-Gothic style. According to T. Coomans, the elevation of the church, namely a three-aisled hall church with cross-rib vaults, is an exception within the concept of neo-Gothic church building. It was built of white bluestone from the quarries of Montauban (Luxembourg), a material that typifies Careels' oeuvre. The church and the accompanying presbytery, designed by the same architect in 1906, form a harmonious whole located on the outskirts of the city at the end of the ring road around Lier.
