Landmark railway viaduct above the Pede valley on the Brussels-Ghent railway line, built in 1929. The valley did not provide solid ground to build a berm, so it was decided to build a viaduct. The viaduct has a length of 600 meters and a height of 18 to 20 meters. The first tender took place after the First World War. The line was opened in 1932 for high-speed traffic, in view of the 1935 World's Fair in Brussels. The viaduct was protected as a monument in 2004 (date of decision: 15 March 2004). Today, the viaduct is widened from two to four tracks, with maximum protection of the original view.
